Students organize pink bazaar in support of breast cancer patients
The Student Council of Kolej Bandar Utama (KBU) International College in association with a number of private colleges will be hosting a fundraising bazaar in support of breast cancer patients on Saturday, Nov 14, 2009.
They hope to raise RM20,000 for the Breast Cancer Welfare Association (BCWA) and University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) Breast Cancer fund through profits made from the fundraising bazaar.
Themed Pink Bazaar, the event will feature a series of activities throughout the day including car wash for visitors, vendor and food stalls. Free breast check-ups conducted by medical personnel from UMMC and awareness talks by the BCWA will also be held.
The event promises an interesting finale which will highlight the end of a three-week drive called "Clip for Cause" where students shave their heads bald for donations in support of breast cancer patients.
Coupons purchased for the bazaar will instantly entitle visitors to participate in a series of lucky draws that will be held throughout the day of the event. Prizes up for grabs include Estee Lauder Products worth RM300, Famous Amos (DKSH) products worth RM500 and other attractive prizes.
The Pink Bazaar will run from 9am-6pm at the KBU International College, Bandar Utama, PJ; all are welcome.
