Going healthy, Japanese style

IN LINE with the present trend for a balanced and wholesome lifestyle, Agehan Japanese Restaurant is introducing the Healthy Set Lunch & Dinner Menu promotion to cater to the health conscious.

According to Grand BlueWave Hotel Shah Alam relationship marketing manager CK Yong, the dishes featured in the promotion do not have artificial flavourings and there is minimal use of oil.

"We only use ingredients that are fresh and of the highest quality, and cook the dishes a-la-minute upon receiving customers' orders to ensure freshness," he said.

Fish dish: The Mini Saba Shioyaki is available for both lunch and dinner.

Master Chef Eiji Tokuda has prepared a selection of 25 items for the lunch menu and 35 items for the dinner menu, which includes salads, sashimi, grilled items, vinegared items, tempura, noodles and rice sets.

Diners can personalise their meals by selecting any five items for lunch or seven items for dinner.

Among the restaurant's recommended dishes, which are available for both lunch and dinner, are: Oroshi Mentaiko (Alaska Pollock-Cod Fish Roe with Grated White Radish), Mini Saba Shioyaki (Mini Grilled Mackerel Fish with Salt), Mini Shake Teriyaki (Mini Grilled Salmon Fish with Teriyaki Sauce), Agedashi Tofu (Deep Fried Beancurd), Yamaimo Tororo (Grated Japanese Yam), Natto (Fermented Soybeans), and Kake Soba (Buckwheat Noodles in Soup).

The Healthy Set Lunch menu features dishes like Kaniko Salada (Crab Roe Salad), Shirasu Oroshi (Baby Sardine served with Grated White Radish), Okura Ohitashi (Steamed Ladies Fingers), Kurage Su (Vinegared Seaweed and Cucumber with Jellyfish), Shake Buzu Kiri (Diced Raw Salmon), Soumen (Cold White Thin Wheat Flour Noodles), Yasai Tempura (Vegetables Tempura), and Okaka Onigiri (Finely Chopped Dried Bonito Flakes Triangle Rice).

The Healthy Set Dinner menu highlights dishes like Edamame (Boiled Green Bean with Salt), Satsumage (Grilled Fish Cake), Chikuwa Kyuri (Cucumber with Fish Cake Roll), Shishamo (Capeline Roe Fish), Tekka Maki (Tuna Roll Sushi), and Natto Maki (Fermented Soybeans Roll Sushi), in addition to several others that are also available in the lunch menu.

Popular items: The Hanabi Bon Mori Gozen promotion features a combination of Japanese favourites like sashimi, tempura, sushi, salad and miso soup.

The Healthy Set Lunch is priced at RM25++ (adult) for five dishes while the Healthy Set Dinner is priced at RM35++ (adult) for seven dishes.

Also available at Agehan is the Hanabi Bon Mori Gozen promotion.

The platter, served during lunch and dinner, features a combination of Japanese favourites like Edamame (Boiled Green Bean with Salt), Tamago Yaki (Egg Omelette), Shake Mayo Chesese Yaki (Grilled Salmon with Mayonnaise and Cheese), sashimi, tempura, sushi, salad and miso soup.

Priced at RM45++ per platter, the set easily serves two to three persons, and offers diners a chance to try a little bit of everything that the restaurant is known for.

Those who cannot get enough of Japanese cuisine can also check out Agehan's All You Can Eat Dinner, where diners can order their favourite dishes from over 40 items from a specil menu as many times as they want.

It is priced at RM65++ on weekdays and RM59++ on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

Selected discounts are available for senior citizens and children.

The promotions are available from now till Aug 31.
