Brasserie features long list of local favourites during Ramadan
THE Di-Atas Brasserie at the Legend Hotel, Kuala Lumpur is dishing out all the local favourites for this Ramadan.
From your ever famous Nasi Kandar dishes, the buffet spread also includes international selections with seven menus rotated daily.
An assortment of appetisers featuring Kerabu Pucuk Paku, Kerabu Ong Lai (Pineapple Salad), Ulam-Ulam and Pasembor, Rojak Mamak, Tauhu Sumbat, Smoked Salmon, Fresh Seafood On Ice, Nasi Himpit Kuah Kacang, Daging Panggang Air Asam, Sup Ekor Lembu, Sup Tom Yam Udang, Sup Soto Ayam with Condiments, Sup Tulang Rawan and Roasted Cream of Pumpkin as well as Cream of Mushrooms with Garlic Toast.
Spicy fare: The Nasi Kandar corner at the Di-Atas Brasserie at the Legend Hotel. The main course section consists of Rendang Tok, Ayam Percik Pelangi, Ikan Pari Bakar Legend, Laksa Johor with Condiments, Stir-fried Flower Crabs Chinese Style, Grilled Lamb with an assortment of sauces, Kerutup Daging, Rendang Ayam dan Daging, Baked Tandoori Fish, Marinated Pandan Chicken, Pattaya Fried Rice, Stir-fried Venison in Ginger, Ayam Masak Rempah Nangka Muda, Fried Mussels with Chilli, Ikan Pekasam Masak Lemak Pucuk Manis and Stir-fried Honey Soya Prawns.
Action counters and stalls are set up offering a wide selection of hotel's signature dishes like the Nasi Beriyani Gam Ayam, Nasi Kandar Penang, Roasted Sirloin with Coconut-Turmeric Gravy, Grilled Fresh Seafood, Lamb Percik as well as Chicken, Beef Satay, Assorted Tempura, Dim Sum, Murtabak, Fried Kuey Teow, Beef Noodles and BBQ Chicken Wings.
Sink into the selection of sweet delights like the Crème Caramel, Walnut Tart, Apple Galette, Blueberry Cheese Tart, Jackfruit & Dates Crumble, Lemon Meringue Pie and Chocolate Mousse.
Chef's recommendation: The Sup Gearbox For those who prefer local desserts, there are the rich Sago Gula Melaka, soft and chewy Dodol Gula Melaka, Ais Kacang with Ice Cream, a selection of bubur – Bubur Durian, Bubur Pulut Hitam, Pengat Pisang, Bubur Labu, Bubur Barli dan Sago and Bubur Cha-Cha to be tried out.
Malay chef Mohd Norhafzai-neezan Hamzah said that the Nasi Kandar theme is always popular with the customers.
Norhafzaineezan said the Kari Kepala Ikan, Daging Rendang Butterworth, Udang and Sotong Goreng Berempah and Kambing Masak Hitam are a must-try.
"The newest addition this year is the Sup GearBox.
"Our style of cooking is that we saute the wet spices longer than usual and we add a bit of chicken stock, which is the basic ingredient.
"We try not to make the food too spicy or hot," he said.
As for the chef's recommendation this Ramadan, Norhafzai-neezan said that patrons must try the Nasi Kandar, Kambing Panggang and Sup Gearbox.
The promotion will be available until Sept 19 and is priced at RM85++ per person.
Di-Atas Brasserie also offers sahur daily from 4am to 5.45am at RM32++ per person.
There are specially tailor-made menus, which starts from RM65++ per person for groups interested to hold their ‘berbuka puasa' at any of the function rooms or spacious Legend Grand Ballroom.
