Keep your skin moisturized
While drinking eight glasses of water daily is good for you, that alone is not enough to keep your skin moisturized. That is because the moisture level of the skin is not determined by internal factors, but rather external ones, which include cold / hot air and dry heat. This is why it is recommended that you refresh your skin with a facial mist. It's the best way to keep your skin moisturized.
Stop the first signs of aging
The skin around the eyes is the thinnest part on the body and is also where the first signs of aging will appear (read: wrinkles). This is why it is good practice to gently massage around this area because it will enhance blood circulation and promote the absorption of eye serums and moisturizers in order to keep the first signs of aging at bay.
Here's how to diminish fine lines
Always keep your skin well-protected from harmful UV ray exposure. The best way to do this is with sun-screen (minimum spf15). Apply generously whenever you're planning a day outdoors. Plenty of rest works wonders too, and by this we mean, sleep! Eight hours of sleep is sufficient to help your body recover from the stresses of the day. Lastly, if you are a smoker, give up the habit. Smoking is not only detrimental to your health, it is also bad for your skin as smoking dehydrates the skin and burns away nutrients in the body.
Applying mascara properly
Take the wand out of the mascara tube and let it dry slightly (for about a minute). Look into a mirror and stroke lashes upwards with just the tip of the brush. To coat both sides of the lashes brush the lashes downwards from above and then upwards from below. Always allow the first coat to dry before applying the second coat. When applying mascara to the lower lashes, gently brush the tip of the applicator across them and then comb the lashes to separate the hairs and remove excess mascara.
Choosing the right type of face mask
If you are prone to blackheads or whiteheads go for a clay mask. If you want to rehydrate your skin, choose a hydrating mask. However the hydrating mask is not meant to be used if you have naturally dry skin. This type of skin needs to be treated to an ultra moisturizing mask. And finally if you wish to lighten dark spots or skin pigmentation, go for a whitening mask.
Preventing chapped and dry lips
The skin of the lips is very delicate, highly vulnerable to the drying effect of the climate, excessive sun or wind exposure. Even licking your lips can cause the lips to dry out easily. Keep the lips well moisturized by applying a lip moisturizer all the time.
Eyeshadow that stays on
Melting eyeshadow is a problem for many women but here's the secret to make eyeshadow 'stay' a little longer. If you use a damp eyeshadow brush and apply a layer of face powder to your lids allow it to set, the eyeshadow will last and stay in place for the day.

A small portion of fresh food that tastes great will satisfy you more than a huge plate of food that lacks flavour. So ignore processed food and replace them with good healthy meals.
It is important to exfoliate
Regular face exfoliation is the best way to keep your skin clear and healthy looking. When you exfoliate your face, you remove dead skin cells and excessive sebum that causes pores to clog up. Basically this removes the problems that lead to blackheads, whiteheads, pimples and acne.
Detox your skin
Your skin can easily absorb toxins directly from the environment, while the pores which release the body's toxins through sweat, can become clogged by pollutant particles, sebaceous glands' oils and cosmetics. Revitalize your skin at a sauna or steam bath, pamper it with a facial mask and treat it to a healthy diet with lots of water. This is all your skin needs to glow again.
Never go to bed with your make-up still on
Not only will you stain your pillow, leaving make-up on is just not good for the health of your skin. Make-up left on clogs pores will lead to acne, breakouts and a host of other unattractive reactions.
