One of Those Days

Posted by: andrew william Post(s) by this blogger

Have you ever woken up on one of those days where you don’t feel like doing your routine stuff? Just maybe sleep a little longer. Forget that healthy breakfast and head to the nearest mamak stall and have that roti chanai.

Oh, and those exercises, maybe just skip it today and do it tomorrow? Well if you have had that feeling, its perfectly o.k., if you have been one of those very disciplined persons who have a strict regime.

Life is never contained around regimental procedures. If we can’t take a break to just enjoy some of the luxuries , what then are we really living for? If good health and strength is what we want then the strict regiment is very important, but not to the extent you can’t be flexible once in a while, if not it will become a drag and you will feel why are you doing this in the first place.

You need to take a break

This is what experts call the 80:20 rule. It means stick to your regiment, exercises, food intake discipline at 80% and you are allowed to slack 20%. It means 80: 20 and not for the next few years live on the 20% region and then decide to switch to the 80% region discipline. You will probably have chronic health problems by then.

Science has already proven the direct co relationship between the food you take and the effects on your health. So be very careful what you have on a regular basis.

Give yourself a treat once in a while

When it comes to exercising, if your body just needs a break for the day, I suggest you don’t completely give up on the exercise. Just do it a little lighter. It’s a way of your body saying that it really needs that exercise not the other way around.

Just Some words of Kindness…

I just bumped into a friend of mine a couple of days ago that I got to know recently. She was curious to know if I was the guy who writes this blog. She said I look a little different in person. Well actually with the disguise of glasses, a bandanna and having lost 2 more kilos I might look a little different in person. (I wonder how superman disguises with just a pair of glasses)

Well she said she has been following my articles for sometime with interest and suspected it could be me from the gist and the tone of some of the articles. Well it was nice to meet one of my fans in person. Although she liked my articles, she never once commented on the blog. I once remember my editor mentioning that the Guy blog has a good following. See, I will never know that until I get some feed back. So to all you readers out there, please comment. Doesn't matter if its just one line, it will be a huge encouragement.

Cheer up Karen!

Most people out there need encouragement. I heard of a great presenter once said when she gets down from the stage, questions will be running through her mind if she had messed up, offended anyone or if the message carried any weight. But this is a brilliant speaker. I think we really need to encourage even the best.

I have at times performed with my band and of late not received any feedback except for some occasional ones. People begin to think when you are good, you are too used to the compliments and  you probably don't need any. Not true. Sometimes when we don't get the feedback, we think we must have messed up. I have personally interviewed some of the top professional drummers in the world and when I encourage them by complimenting on their skills, they really melt and are extremely appreciative of the compliment.

Hah! Thats more like it...see it works

Michael Jackson after doing his debut of Billie Jean in Motown came down out of the backstage feeling miserable. Thoughts were running in his mind if he messed up and did a poor performance until a kid ran up to him and said, "Gosh! How did you do that? That was simply incredible!"
