The Gwyneth Effect

Apparently, according to feverish news reports, Gwyneth Paltrow’s tottering on the red carpet in sky-high stilettos has sent shoe sales soaring in the UK. Retailers are dubbing it the ‘Gwyneth Effect’ as customers’ express interest and purchase pairs of heels as tall as seven inches.

Were't we told never to wear heels with minis?

During her tour to promote her new film Iron Man, Paltrow stepped out each day in a different country, wearing a fantastic pair of vertiginous heels.

The six-inch Alexander McQueen heels are sold out.  Selfridges and Harvey Nichols reported a 35 per cent and 7 per cent increase in sales, respectively.

The exorbitant prices of these ‘taxi-only shoes’ do not seem to put off the customers.

What a pair!
