Flat Feet
Posted by: fashion fiend Post(s) by this blogger
Finally, I did it.Last week I twisted my ankle but continued to hobble around the city in my heels. All because I do not own any flat shoes/sandals/pumps. Forget about ballet pumps and Gladiator sandals - I am simply not a fan of flatties. I’m also at least 174 cm tall. And to tell you the truth (well…almost), I’m so far away from 16 that that age in my life is a very distant, cobweb-by memory.
Anyway, the only flats I possess are my grungy flip-flops which I absolutely adore and a couple of surfing slippers, or whatever you call them, that I love. (I do not surf)
So, today I set out for Sunday lunch wearing an old pair rope sandals to match my white dress and, I’m surprised to say, my feet have never felt so comfortable.
I think this marks the return of the flatties in a big way.

Race Hottie

Just a couple of days of ago a Brazilian hottie, Renault’s Formula One driver,Nelson Piquet Jr, was spotted shopping in Versace at the Pavilion.
Just ahead of the race this weekend, the 23-year-old son of three-time Formula One world champion Nelson Piquet browsed amongst the racks, and slipped on a few items.

Sports chic.

Wrist List

Need a quick pick-me-up to ease into this season’s trends? Bangles are the latest in status accessories. And some may cost an arm too! From luxurious leather cuffs from Hermes to thin YSL gold bangles held together with a ring, the wrist wish-list can go on.
Chunky studded arm-band, jewel-encrusted bangle, huge beads strung together, friendship strings, lattice gold cuffs, oversized wooden bangles and enamel bracelets…there are plenty to choose from.
You could either wear them simply or stack them high with loads, either way this is the accessory to covet this season.
No Star

But first, sorry…Got a little carried away with recent events and I unforgivably neglected fashion! It was one helluva event – I’m sure you would all agree. I still can’t get over the shock that something other than fashion had me enthralled.
Anyway, since there is no fashion star to be awarded for the bag-crazy question two entries back, I’ll do my duty here.
The answer:
The bag featured is Yves St Laurent's Large Muse Two in Blue Patchwork Croc-embossed Leather and Beige Canvas. It is available in beige and blue.
Unfortunately, the YSL website has already listed is as ‘out of stock’. And worse, we don't even have a YSL boutique here...
Hmmm, the hunt begins!
Lip Match
Posted by: fashion fiend Post(s) by this blogger
At the launch of her new Lip System in New York Bobbi Brown said that women have always been advised to match their lipstick to either their skin or eye colour. However, she’s now recommending that you match them to your lips natural colour.
Once you’ve done that, Bobbi Brown’s colour wheel chart will show you the best lipstick shades to match your natural lip colour. There are four shades each in neutral, bright and deep colours. No red there though, because she says as no one has red lips, it can be worn by all.

Rich, confortable and long-lasting. New creamy shine lipsticks - Bobbi Brown
Your next step would be to build your Lip Wardrobe around your natural lip colour.
Cool! Time to visit the counter I’d think…
Short and Sexy

Here’s a peek of what to expect this coming season. At the recent Bafta Awards in London, the Girls Aloud girls dressed up rather delightfully in spring summer’s coolest colours and styles.

Go loud!
Black and white will always be perennial favourites, and the rosette detail and the belt on the two dresses on the left add a certain freshness to the quite common colours.
Yellow will be a hit, and so will the printed dress, And if you’ve got the pins for it, minis are a must.
Look out for these accessories too: slim belts and peep-toe heels. And when it comes to bags, it will have to be a clutch… or nothing.
Mod Move

If you have not had your hair cut in months or if you have been sporting the same look for years, it’s time to take to take another (hard) look at your hair. This season, be a little adventurous and go for a blunt-cut bob. It’s a far cry from the romantic waves or the chic, long straight tresses that women everywhere seem to covet. That's beginning to get a little boring, and I’m sure not very easy to maintain either.
Think Kylie with her new hairstyle: ragged, edgy fringe in an uneven straight-cut bob. Renee Zellweger’s hair at the Oscar ceremony is simply perfect, albeit a little shorter.

Chic, short and so sexy.
The look is chic and sassy and a simple wash-and-go if you have well-behaved hair. Or else, find out from your reliable hair stylist what you’ll need to keep your style under control.
Name the Bag

Finally, after poring over millions of pages and surfing tonnes of websites, I’ve decided – on the bag I want this season.Just looking at it sends shivers down my spine, leaving my toes tingling in lust. Oh! the ecstasy of anticipation!
It’s a stylish take on the shoulder bag with loads of room. It’s not over-the-top like some of the other grotesque ‘It’ bags. It’ll be a classic and wear well through the seasons. It’s timeless and not tacky. It’s cool and will look oh-so chic on my arm.

I can't wait!
Guess the name of the bag and earn yourself a ‘fashion star’
Wearing Violet

Not the easiest colour to wear, but with the range of hues to choose from it can make a striking colour choice to stand out this season. Lots of designers sent out models in cotton candy confections all in the shade of passion – purple.
Cool Colour- Narciso Rodriguez
Depending on your body shape and style preference, go for soft jersey or chiffon for that airy feeling. Satin does offer a certain sumptuousness, for glitzy evenings, though.

Cocktail Sass - Alberta Ferreti
This romantic shade makes a sensuous statement but never a dull one. With a little imagination it can quickly be transformed into an edgy, quirky outfit. For added madness accessorise with the unexpected.

Edgy Sweet - Marc Jacobs
Dare to delve into purple – and have fun!
